Malted Carob in Seattle?

OK, that does sound weird, but here in South Africa, Seattle Coffee shops now have our very own Mary-Ann's Malted Carob, which you can order off their menu with cream, soya milk, milk froth or straight. So no more sipping hot water and lemon or boring herb teas while your friends have a hot chocolate or cappuccino!!
And if you don't have a Seattle coffee shop near you (there are over 30 in the country) take a bottle of our Malted Carob with you and order hot water and add your own! You can order Malted Carob Powder online at www.naturalway.co.za and we will send it to your door!

Speaking of which, we have listened, and have simplified our online shopping process - no more having to wait for 2 emails before you shop, and everyone gets the discounted price right up front. You can choose to be a straight shopper or a loyalty rewards shopper and earn some money-back or not.

Try it out and give us feed back. We are doing our best to keep it simple and keep the prices low.

We have received several emails from people frustrated at not finding our products in retail outlets. If we have not made it clear, this is the story..
We have discontinued supplying most retail outlets due to the way the outlets treat our products and the exorbitant costs that are added to the cost of the products.  We will supply retail outlets that commit to looking after the products, however we have made our wholefood products, books, dvd etc available to you directly online at an average discount of less 25% off our recommended prices which is usually less that retail prices already!

So make sure you check out the huge range of products we have from toilet-paper and paper-napkins to shampoos, wheat-free bars, preservative-free nuts and dried fruit, different grains, like the best rice ever and rice flour that makes the best pancakes/wraps/tortillas ever! Healthy sweets and treats including Turkish delight!

This week there is more detail on heart disease and cholesterol, make  sure to go to the read more section for full details. It appears more and more people even on 'healthy diets' are suffering from this 1 out of every 2 disease.

So without wanting to bore you and as briefly as possible I have included the dietary causes and and what you can specifically do to reverse or just even lower your risk of heart disease.

LETTERS FROM READERS

From Merrily Bright in California

What should have been an eleven-day trip for the children of Israel to get from the Red Sea to the crossing of the Jordan River into the Promised Land ended up taking them 40 years in the wilderness. As someone who grew up in church, I can attest to the fact that this story really preaches. "How to turn an eleven-day walk into 40 years wandering aimlessly in the wilderness." And always, the lesson has been to obey God, because look what happens when you don't. The implication being that the children of Israel could have greatly shortened this time had they not grumbled against Moses and God.

It's a powerful message, which, unfortunately, sends many people home depressed. Either they have children or loved ones who are disobediently wandering around in their own wildernesses, or they themselves feel the sting of the hot desert sun. Who of us can say they haven't disobeyed the Lord? Who of us hasn't grumbled or complained to God about the way He has been running things? I'm not even sure the eleven-day trip is an option for anyone.

Now I know a lot of you are suffering due to desert experiences—yours or someone else’s. Yes, the children of Israel wasted a lot of time wandering around for 40 years on a trip that should have only taken eleven days, but here’s another way to look at it—God got them to the Promised Land nonetheless, didn't He? I believe this is much more the message of this story than "obey God and things will go great for you; disobey Him and eat desert dust."

Desert experiences are not always our fault. Sometimes they are sent to strengthen our faith. Faith that is defined by the good life is not going to stretch anyone very far. In fact, it can get us into a lot of trouble when we assume that success is God's blessing.

Hardship, on the contrary, is definitely underrated. It teaches us patience and builds character. Faith when God seems far away and everything seems to be going wrong is a faith that truly means something. The desert is not always the long way; it is sometimes the only way.

So here's something to think about: There’s the long way and there’s the longer way, but they both arrive at the same place. Yes, we can make the long way longer, but God will always be faithful to get us where He promised. This is something to hold onto, for you, and for those you love, who, in spite of everything, belong to Him. God does not abandon His own.

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

Heart disease and treatments

In 1961 the first bypass surgery was performed (removal of a vein from patient’s leg which is then spliced around the coronary artery blockage).
Twenty years later, in the 1980’s, three controlled clinical studies demonstrated that bypass surgery provided only marginal benefit and that heart disease had increased considerably.

Possible problems that occur during bypass surgery are: heart attack, strokes, infection, or death! A third of all bypass patients suffer some transient or permanent neurological damage or decrease in intellectual ability. 50% of bypassed arteries clog up after 5 years and 80% after 7 years.
In 1977 a less invasive procedure called “Angioplasty”, in which a small balloon is passed through a tube inside a blocked coronary artery, was invented. 33% of arteries treated this way will clog up again in 4-6 months. Both approaches require a huge financial commitment and are usually only available to the well off.

None of these procedures, including drug therapy and heart transplants, address the fundamental issue of what caused heart disease in the first place!
